Local Solutions Conference of Las Cruces "A Sustainable Lifestyle Success"!

The annual Sustainable Lifestyle Event, held on Saturday, March 8th 2008 from 8:30am-6pm at Court Youth Center (402 West Court, Las Cruces, NM) was a huge success. There were booths and tables displaying anything from how to electrify your bike to solar energy for home owners. Throughout the full day event several local experts spoke on such topics as green living, solar water heating, agriculture and healthy living.
Mrs. Erica Williams spoke on healthy living and the chemical dangers that lurk in the shadows of every home. Common items that we buy each week at the local grocery store are not only harmful to the environment but more importantly, our own health. Mrs. Williams pointed out the importance of protecting the next generation, our future, and all the generations to come.
The conference was an opportunity for the community to come together to enlighten each other on new technology and methods to reduce waste, recycle, encourage green transportation, and build with energy efficiency in mind. Several vendors displayed building materials that are proven to save energy, benefiting not only the environment but the pocket-book as well.
